SAGE-AU was formed to advance the profession of System Administration by raising awareness of the need for System Administrators, and educating System Administrators in technical as well as professional issues.
About SAGE-AU
SAGE-AU is a not-for-profit professional organisation. It promotes the development of the system administration profession via online communication forums, regional monthly meetings, regional symposiums and an annual national technical conference:
- We aim to increase interaction between professional system administrators within Australia, and internationally.
- We provide recognition to high achievers amongst our members.
- We also support systems administrators in their daily jobs via various publications and an active email discussion forum. Our members use the considerable body of knowledge within the organisation to assist enterprise and government to make prudent Information Technology decisions.
SAGE-AU members work in all varieties of profit and not-for-profit industry, education, research and government, in roles spanning from junior administrators to chief information officers.

Membership Recruitment Reward Program
A Membership Recruitment Reward Program is now in place to assist in the building and strengthening of SAGE-AU by increasing the Individual Membership and to reward the members who work toward this achievement.

The 20th Australian System Administrators' Conference is currently being developed.
CALL FOR PAPERS
We are now welcoming paper submissions on a wide range of topics and from across the Sys Admin community – to reflect on the last twenty years in the development the profession of sys admin, but equally important to look ahead to the emerging issues and technology and to speculate on what the next twenty years will bring.
So consider sharing your extensive knowledge, skills and ideas with attendees of this milestone conference, being held at the Cairns Hilton from 2 – 5 October 2012. Details can be downloaded here and:
